I just bought this in the bundle for ukrainian hospitals, and while I haven't played yet, I actually printed out the ultra edition and it's SO STYLISH? Everything from the illustration to the font really hammers home the overall themes, and I had to leave a comment for this reason alone.

thank you so much!! check out our profile, we've got all kinds of stylish FIST material available

Hi! Regarding trait #122 Animus.... what is the included item "Lighter (your longtime companion)"? Is it just a Bic lighter or a companion or what? What's the intended tie-in with the trait? I found a flip-lighter in the item index. Idk. Just trying to figure this one out. Thanks. Congrats on the game.

hey thanks for checking the game out! it's a lighter of whatever kind you imagine (bic, zippo, whatever) and it's your buddy because ANIMUS lets you make objects sentient - basically, it's a way to set things on fire, but it also is your friend. reflavoring items is encouraged so you might also make it some other common object given consciousness

Thanks. I was over thinking it. Lol. You just made me think of the bullets from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Heh. Perfect.

happy to help!!

How many players is this designed for? Cheers. :)

one referee and one to six players!

Oh awesome, so this CAN be played solo?

(+2)

sorry, meant that it can be played with one referee and one PC - we are working on solo rules though in an upcoming expansion!

THANK YOU FOR THE COMMUNITY COPY! It's difficult for me to get anything paid, and to find this just after reading it up from the lancer reddit. perfect. Thank you again

I haven't even opened the book yet but I already need to leave a review thanking you highly for the fact that you have community copies available, and that you keep adding more. That is an amazing thing to do, and I commend you to the utmost degree for such kindness. As for the game itself, the blurb has got me more than a little excited for the modularity I so often enjoy in games. Thank you!

thanks for taking an interest in the game!!

Hi! I had a fantastic time playing FIST in one of the TTRPG communities I was in. The easy and straightforward prep was so nice and everything was easy to understand. I’d love to run it for my friends and introduce them to other systems apart from DnD but money is tight. If there’re Community Copies made available again, I’d like to grab one.

Thank you so much! <3

Hey, I wanted to come in with a Question, During one of the rules sections it mentions that a good bit of advice for players wanting to survive in the Mercenary Mindset, is Strength in numbers, With a Suggestion for Narrators using Allied NPCs to help in Fights.

But... At least in my scouring, I dont believe ive found any rules in the system for how Allied NPCs would contribute to a fight, Wether they be Trait-Goons or Trait-Minions or Narrator-Fodder.

So are there any suggestions as how to run something like the Trait-Goons (Or "Recruits") or a band of Rebels or Mercs persuaded to help FIST in a Firefight controlled by the Narrator?

This could definitely stand to be expanded on (we're planning on it in SUPPLY DROP), but how we've run it without specific rules is pretty much treating the allied NPC as an extension of the PCs, letting them land a shot when someone rolls a success, letting them add a +1 to player rolls using the optional rule for advantage and assistance, etc.

Oh! Okay, Thats interesting, So kinda like how enemies get a surge, Like tossing a grenade when Players Complicate, When Players Succeed their Allies should get a surge against the enemies?

Thats... A nice way to run it, Keeps the spotlight on the players, but keeps the allies useful, Pair that with letting people give them orders as the "theme" of an attack action where they use that NPCs weapon instead of their own, And i can see how that'd work out to be quite fluid!

Besides the NPC Allies also being an extra pool of HP to drain from.

Shoutout on Dungeon Craft!
